Creating Lifelong Learners
About Us We believe all students can learn. No two students learn the exact same way. No one curriculum matches the learning styles of all students. We use science-based research and methods to create individualized strategies that allow the learner to master the information. We make house calls! Learners need to know how to create a harmonious work space regardless of what is going on around them. We have found that the most efficient and effective place to learn is in a comfortable and familiar environment. That is why our coaches travel to the learner’s home, school or place of business. This convenience translates into less time spent in the car and more coaching time for the learner.We focus on the process of learning and organization. In order to be organized and successful at school, home or in business, learners must be able to effectively break large tasks into smaller, manageable pieces, as well as be able to prioritize those smaller pieces. By recognizing the need for organization and the ways to implement a strategy, learners build confidence and ultimately achieve success. We create independent, lifelong learners When learners experience success, they begin to break the cycle of avoidance and failure. We “coach” learners until they have mastered the skills they need to teach themselves. We improve a learner’s inferential and abstract thinking skills by connecting concepts to prior knowledge and experiences. We provide a link between the learner and their environment. We can be a liaison between the learner and the school or place of business. Since all of our coaches have extensive classroom and business experience, they can provide insight and practical solutions to most learning challenges. We believe in a balance of academics, work, family and extracurricular activities. When learners understand the expectations of tasks, as well as the steps needed to complete those tasks, they create a pattern of success. We help learners create a manageable agenda for the completion of all activities. We want learners to work smarter, not necessarily longer. During the initial consultation, we set the primary expectations for success. We meet to establish common goals with the learner and any family members or mentors who will support the learner’s plan for success. We then assess the learner’s school, home and/or work environment and create a preliminary plan for individualized instruction. We understand that life does not always go as planned. In life, unforeseen circumstances may arise and learners will meet unique learning challenges. This is why our coaches will meet with learners in various medical facilities, often seeing them through the transition from the hospital to the traditional learning environment. Our coaches are flexible and sensitive to all learners’ needs.
