Welcome to The Confident Student
Creating Lifelong Learners
 College Transition Services

Gone are the days when having a learning disability would automatically exclude a student from attending college.  Today, many teenagers have the opportunity to enjoy life on campus and all the benefits a college education can provide.  With a little help and the proper preparation, high school students who have learning, organizational, and/or behavioral challenges can lead a fulfilling life  away from the comfort and daily support of Mom and Dad.

Confident Student recognizes the emotional separation and serious concerns parents have for their child’s ability to manage a learning disability independently.  One-on-one sessions respond to the specific needs of your future college freshman, and empower him or her with the confidence to be more independent, and yet comfortable and capable to reach out for appropriate on-campus supports while away at school.

Designed for high school students who have learning, organizational, and/or behavioral challenges, our services respond to the critical areas researchers suggest high school students need additional support:

Study Skills
Self Advocacy
Organizational Skills
Team-Building
Math Remediation
Language Arts Remediation
Research Paper Process

It is true collegiate adjustments are challenges for most college freshmen; but these can be intensely magnified in students with learning disabilities. Confident Student partners with parents to help their teenagers approach their first semester of college more confidently and comfortably, and therefore with more anticipation than apprehension.
